By completing the Workplace Safety Systems (HCS 3000) course you will earn one credit towards your high school diploma and meet the prerequisite for taking Work Experience 15, 25 or 35, and be qualified to participate in the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP).

Welcome to Workplace Safety Systems: HCS 3000

In this course you will gain knowledge, skills and attitudes pertaining to workplace health and safety, thereby preparing you for:
  • Workplace orientation to off-campus education learning experiences.
  • Future transition to the world of work.
  • Working safely within the work site

In addition, you will complete the following four components in this course:
  1. Become familiar with workplace health and safety management systems.
  2. Learn to identify various types of hazards, and to assess these hazards for purposes of helping control them.
  3. Become aware of federal and provincial legislation relating to workplace health and safety.
  4. Create a transitional strategy to identify short-term and long-term goals relating to future work life.
